After spending around 4 and a half year in and out of the wards at one of the busiest and prestigious hospitals in India, K.E.M. hospital, she tries to suggest a working solution to this problem at hand which could grow larger. The right to Information act is in, but how do we exercise the right?
In this information age, in spite of excessive outsourcing of information, its paradoxical how the patients are miles down the information road..
There is no dearth of information available , the pathos is that it is a pure chaos.! How do we find the right direction in this maze?
Streamlining of this information could help to bring the two ends closer and here comes the role of ‘medical counseling’, either in person by a professional or by creating an excellent database by the treating physician/doctor himself. This could really help the patients make a truly informed choice and have practical expectations from his doctor and the compliance would go up several grades.
