Using information therapy to effectively deal with neurodevelopmental disorder related childhood stress
A child’s development – mentally, emotionally and physically – largely rests on the experiences from his early years. These depend, mainly on the people responsible for his upbringing. Children with special needs, have to be dealt with sensitively. This explains why their parents need the right kind of information that would contribute to an improvement in the quality of life of both the child and the parent.
Akanksha Thakkar, a third year M. B. B. S. student at Seth G. S. medical college, has a keen interest in Paediatrics and is currently working on determining if specific learning disabilities significantly add to the anxiety levels of those diagnosed. Here, she will talk about what needs to be done to minimize such stress.
